The Battlefield team has shared new details on the upcoming Class System via a community update on X. The system is currently being tested in Battlefield Labs, with a focus on class identity, team synergy, and customization.
Each class in Battlefield 6 will have two core elements — customizable components (weapons, gadgets, training) and class-defining traits (signature weapon, unique ability, special gadgets). The goal is to make each class feel distinct and essential within a squad.

According to the update, all changes are being shaped with community feedback in mind. Battlefield Labs allows the developers to tweak balance, progression, and role efficiency based on live data and player suggestions.
Training Paths, introduced in this system, offer players layered bonuses and even ultimate abilities that reset each round. Meanwhile, Signature Traits and Gadgets are tailored to highlight the role of each class, from Assault’s enhanced mobility to Recon’s passive spotting tools.

The developers also confirmed that feedback on features like the Adrenaline Injector and overpowered loadouts is being addressed. Some previously tested elements like Ballistic Armor have been cut following community concerns.
Battlefield 6 is still in active development, and while not all features are final, the team encourages players to join Battlefield Labs and help shape the future of the franchise.
