Today, more than 500 people attended the event held at JW Marriott Absheron with the support of Binance. To attend the event, it was enough to obtain a free ticket through the website meetup.binance.events.

During the event, speeches were delivered by Binance regional representatives and members of the Binance Angels Azerbaijan community. Since the speakers spoke in English, special devices were provided to attendees to listen to the translation in Azerbaijani.

The event program included the following:

    • 15:30–16:30 Opening Session & Activities Engagement
    • 16:30–16:40 Welcome Speech
    • 16:40–16:50 Binance Ecosystem Updates: Security, Market Sentiment & Products
    • 16:50–17:00 Binance Development in Azerbaijan
    • 17:00–17:10 Azerbaijan Community and Value Creation
    • 17:10–17:50 Building the Future: Angels’ Stories in Crypto
    • 17:50–18:00 Azerbusiness
    • 18:00–18:15 Q&A session
    • 18:15–18:35 Kahoot
    • 18:35–20:00 Networking, Games, Food & Drinks

Official Binance speakers Kyrylo Khomiakov, Alexey Makarov, and Daria Holynska, as well as Dilara Taghiyeva, Binance Angels, and the founder of Azerbusiness participated in the event.

The event provided a general overview of topics such as the Binance ecosystem, its products, P2P, Web3, Copy Trading, Earn, and others, serving as an introductory meeting with local users.

As for the interaction with local users, I would like to point out that the vast majority of attendees had no actual connection with Binance. The number of seats at the venue was not properly planned according to the number of participants, resulting in some attendees having to stand through the event, especially in the back rows. Unfortunately, the same issue was present in the hallway — only two interactive activities with giveaways were organized, and each had dozens of people crowding around them.

No particularly valuable or educational information was shared during the event, nor were there any interesting announcements related to the platform.

Although there seemed to be an effort to organize the event on a high level, the overall impression was underwhelming. Perhaps it stems from my own higher expectations for an event associated with the name “Binance.” At the very least, experiences at international Binance events set a much higher standard.

I hope that in future events, Binance’s regional representatives will take these issues into account, approach the organization more seriously, share meaningful insights about Binance and the world of cryptocurrency, and deliver exciting announcements.
