Borderlands 4 has officially gone gold, as confirmed by the game’s official X (Twitter) account. The much-anticipated sequel is set to release on September 12, 2025, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A version for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 will follow on October 3.
The game’s creative director Graeme Timmins shared his excitement on social media:
“It’s hard to believe, but Borderlands 4 is officially gold!
Congrats to our team. Shipping a game of this scale is a massive achievement. I’m so proud of this project and can’t wait for everyone to get their hands on it.”
In Borderlands 4, players will explore the planet Kyros, once sealed off by a powerful entity known as the Timekeeper. Now that his grip has weakened, rebels and Vault Hunters rise up to challenge him. Expect classic looter-shooter action across diverse regions filled with chaos, humor, and rare loot.
