Sony has officially dropped the first trailer for the FlexStrike Wireless Fight Stick, the company’s debut first-party arcade controller for PlayStation 5 and PC. The reveal comes just days before Evo 2025, and gives fans a full look at the fight stick’s design, core features, and tournament-ready tech.
Formerly known as Project Defiant, FlexStrike is built specifically for competitive fighting games. The trailer showcases its mechanical switches, swappable gates, and DualSense-style button layout. FlexStrike connects via USB‑C or low-latency PlayStation Link wireless, and supports pairing with headsets like Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore on a single adapter.
Inside the controller, players will find space to store swappable restrictor gates, the PS Link adapter, and other parts. A removable non-slip base and lock switch help ensure stability during matches. The device also includes a built-in rechargeable battery and comes with a sling carry case for tournaments and travel.
FlexStrike will be on display at Evo 2025 in Las Vegas from August 1 to 3, featured in the Fight Stick Museum and at the Arc System Works booth. However, it will not be playable yet. Sony says the controller is still in development, with a full release expected in 2026, likely to coincide with the launch of Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls.
While pricing has not been revealed, the trailer and full hardware breakdown suggest Sony is positioning FlexStrike as a top-tier, officially licensed option for serious fighting game fans.
