Intel CEO Lip-Bu Tan admitted to employees that it might be too late for the company as it faces tough competition from Nvidia, AMD and other major players, especially in the field of AI.
According to Tan, Intel no longer ranks among the top ten semiconductor companies. “Twenty or thirty years ago we really were leaders” he said.

Over the past few years, the company has fallen far behind in AI, particularly compared to Nvidia’s technology. This lag has resulted in Intel’s market capitalization dropping by half in just eighteen months, leading to waves of layoffs.
A shift in Intel’s strategy is now expected, given its declining competitiveness in its current market.
It seems AI will continue to reshape the balance of power in the tech industry, perhaps even sooner than we think.
