Several news sources report that the original Minecraft developer is working on something like Minecraft 2. Allegedly, the game being developed by Notch (the developer’s nickname) will be a spiritual successor to Minecraft. At the moment, the developer is thinking about the name, setting, and mechanics of the new game. Apparently, if this is true, it is still at a very early stage.
