The game director of Witcher 4 expressed a desire to make NPCs feel like living people. According to him, these characters should immerse players even more into the game’s setting.
Kalemba said, “We have this rule to make every single NPC look like they’re living, with their own story.”
In his interview, he also drew analogies with the game Red Dead Redemption 2, explaining how well-written characters and storytelling influence the quality of the game.
As previously revealed, the protagonist of the game will be Ciri from the previous games. It was also confirmed that Geralt will appear in the game, though his role in the story is still unknown. The map will be the size of Witcher 3, and Gwent will make a return.
